A few days ago, at the start of my journey, I mentioned that the weather was fluctuating between heavy downpours and blazing sunshine with intense humidity. It wasn’t ideal.
As I began the drive into Denmark on Saturday it also started to get windy. This involves more turning of the enormous steering wheel so as not to veer off the road. It’s a bit like ‘On the Buses’ which won’t mean anything to the youngsters but it involves turning the wheel in an exaggerated manner to stay straight 😉
Just as we approached the Fehmarn Sound Bridge (which is EXCEPTIONALLY WINDY) , a rainbow appeared. Nothing to note there perhaps, we’ve all seen those before and the conditions warranted it; but I could see the entire rainbow in front of me, not just a slice vanishing into the distance and I was driving (albeit in a rather wobbly fashion) under its arc. I wished frantically, then had to change the order of my wishes as without the last wish, the others wouldn’t be possible anyway. I then felt a little sad about having to make the last wish. Although anyone with an enthusiasm for life would surely wish for just a little more of it. It felt a little magical going through the middle.
And now I’m embarrassing myself getting teary-eyed in the hotel breakfast room. I do always like to make the weirdest possible impression. 🤓
