And so it begins

So! I made it out of the village a mere three hours behind schedule, very flustered and with more clothes than I could ever need (not sure what happened to the packing light 😂). I can’t see out of the back of the van at the moment for all the excess luggage (C- for packing skills) but I only set my alarm off every time I started the car between home and the ferry. I make it FOUR times. This means I’M DOING WELL.

It’s worth noting at this early stage that although Filou loves to travel, she also loves to whine at a very high pitch whenever we slow down, stop, reach a roundabout, someone walks or drives past…you get the picture. Some training due this week for my loveable nervy monkey. Miffy tried to Houdini her way out of her travel harness at the port 🙄 and has point blank refused to wee. I’ll capture more of this magic tomorrow. They’re going to be a hoot. 😬

You’ll be pleased to know I’ve already raised several customer service issues since being on board (🙄, I hear you mime) but boringly, now I know where to go and the dogs are in their sea-prison (better together seems to be the magic answer), my cabin is lovely and sparkly, the food yummy and the staff very friendly. Slightly worried that Kitty’s handbrake will fail and there will be an unmitigated disaster on Deck 3. I suspect this will be one of many anxieties now I’ve begun. I feel (and look with this bonkers hair which I keep forgetting about while making serious enquiries) like I’ve just been let out of the asylum and it’s way past my bedtime.

See you in The Netherlands! It will be a slow slow drive to our first campsite in Germany tomorrow.
